She is an assistant professor at the Chair of Technoscience Studies at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, a visiting professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture, and a researcher at the Sorbian Institute. In her current work, she explores the potential of new materialist theories for heritage research and she studies the impacts of digital technology on the processes of cultural transmission, as illustrated by the analysis of Sorbian culture. Anca has been active as researcher, lecturer and project manager in the broad field of heritage for more than ten years. She contributed to the paradigmatic orientation of Heritage Studies developed by the Institute Heritage Studies; was involved in curriculum design and development in heritage-related study programmes at master\u2019s and doctoral levels; and initiated academic research on the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme. Her activities beyond the academic environment include the management of the project <em>50 Years World Heritage Convention: Shared Responsibility \u2013 Conflict &amp; Reconciliation <\/em>at the IHS, and her contribution to drafting of the 2015 UNESCO <em>Recommendation concerning the preservation of, and access to, documentary heritage including in digital form<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anca Claudia Prodan, Ph.D., supports the activities of the Institute Heritage Studies as a research consultant.
