Domschule Schleswig (Germany)<\/p>\n

Based on a simulation game played by the students during the workshop, they developed a mystery dinner that revolves around the (potentially) conflicting interests of protecting World Heritage on the one hand and the expansion of renewable energy on the other. The creators found a way to make the various arguments tangible in an entertaining and interactive way \u2013 and to communicate the special value of the heritage of Haithabu and Danevirke to a younger audience.<\/p>\n

The students describe their motivation and the background to the story as follows:<\/p>\n

\u201cA central conflict of our time is the question of how to deal with the climate crisis. However, it is not only important to look to the future, but also to look to the past. The past is reflected in the over 1,200 UNESCO World Heritage Sites worldwide, which are representative of how human[kind] and nature have developed over the centuries and which should be protected for all people on earth. In our mystery dinner, we address the past and the future by combining [the issues of] renewable energies and climate protection with nature and cultural heritage conservation. Are you allowed to build renewable energy plants in World Heritage sites, even if it means destroying their values? Is there a compromise? An issue that needs to be discussed by everyone in order to find good solutions for the future. Take a look at the various arguments, situations and backgrounds and become part of an incredibly exciting situation.\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>\u00a0Victoria and Paula<\/p>\n
