Evangelische Zinzendorfschule Herrnhut (Germany)

Students from Herrnhut wanted to know more about why Herrnhut is nominated for World Heritage, what the title “World Heritage” actually means and what makes Herrnhut so outstanding on an international level that it should be safeguarded for all of humanity. They started by understanding the global dimension of World Heritage, learned about World Heritage Sites around the world and in Germany, and then focused on the special features of Herrnhut.

As part of an ICOMOS mission to evaluate the status of the World Heritage nomination in Herrnhut, the students presented their activities within the project “Young Climate Action for World Heritage” to the international experts and shared their motivation for raising awareness about heritage and contributing to its sustainable development.
