Tilman-Riemenschneider-Gymnasium Osterode (Germany), Adolf-Grimme-Gesamtschule Goslar (Germany)

Inspired by their own exploration of the vast underground Mines of Rammelsberg and learning about traditional ways of generating energy, a group of young people developed an escape game with riddles and quizzes about the Rammelsberg mines and climate change. The escape game is designed for school groups who do an underground tour of the mines. It starts with a simulated power failure due to bad weather conditions. If the group manages to solve the tricky riddles and quizzes, they will be able to understand the threats are posed to the Harz Mountains by climate change, turn the power back on and leave the mine again... Thanks to the support of the staff for the students’ ideas, the escape game will be avalible for the booking at the site on a permanent basis.
