Save-the-Date: Conference “World.Heritage.Climate – World Heritage Education for Climate-conscious Sustainable Development”, 24 November 2022, at the trade fair denkmal in Leipzig (Germany)

The conference “World.Heritage.Climate – World Heritage Education for Climate-conscious Sustainable Development”, to be hosted by the Saxon State Office for the Conservation of Monuments, the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development, the German Commission for UNESCO, the German National Committee of ICOMOS and the Institute Heritage Studies, continues the dialogue with the younger generation with a focus on the topic of climate change in World Heritage.

Climate change is one of the most important challenges facing the World Heritage Convention. To meet this challenge, interdisciplinary and solution-oriented approaches are needed for our future, the future of tomorrow’s heirs, and our World Heritage sites. The conference therefore deals with synergies between climate protection goals and World Heritage sites in order to embed the theme in future World Heritage thinking whereby together with the younger generation we may conceptualize project ideas for sustainable, climate-conscious development.

Information on registration and the conference programme will be provided in due course.
