The Institute Heritage Studies (IHS) has extensive national and international experience in the field of Heritage Studies across policy, research, education, and practice. The Institute works with diverse forms of heritage, including World Heritage, Intangible Cultural Heritage, and Documentary Heritage, and develops strategies, programmes, and projects at the intersection of heritage, sustainable development, education, and social participation.
The work of the IHS builds on the scholarly legacy of its founder, Prof. Dr. Marie-Theres Albert (1948–2026), and is today continued and further developed by the Co-Directors Anca Claudia Prodan, PhD, and Claudia Grünberg together with an internationally connected team.
