International Academy Cottbus (ISAC) 2015


The International Academy was the fourth of five consecutive interdisciplinary Summer Academies (ISAC) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. It took place from 30.11.2015 until 12.12.2015 within the framework of the Heritage Studies PhD programme at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The central subject of this academy dealt with the broad field of conflict to which the heritage of humanity is increasingly exposed and with identifying and developing disciplinary and interdisciplinary solution strategies. ISAC 2015 aimed to further develop the concepts of sustainable conservation and use of heritage in the sense of the UNESCO Conventions and at the role and meaning of heritage for sustainable and human development.

The overarching subject of conflicts and conflict-solving strategies was divided into five thematic areas:
